THE BRIEF

The client was looking for a complete redesign of a recently purchased family house. The existing property is on a huge 2 Acre plot down a private lane. The property was previously used for a different purpose and as such was laid out in way that wasn't functional for modern family life.

InsideOut were tasked with redesigning the layout to function effectively for modern family lifestyle and the whole house had to have the 'WOW' factor both Inside and Out.

In addition, the overall scheme needed to be broken down into a 3 phase plan to be achieved over a number of years, allowing the client to save for each element over time.

THE PROPOSED SCHEME

InsideOut worked closely with the client understanding their preferences, aspirations and how they intended to use the space. We developed a scheme that created an open plan living kitchen and dining area to the side of the property, relocated the master bedroom and ensuite, created a dressing room area, and exchange 7 tiny bedrooms for 5 good size bedrooms with additional storage added and 2 family bathrooms. In addition to this the front entrance will now have a double height glass barn style atrium entrance with a beautiful gallery landing.

The redesign at the front doesn't stop there, along with the front, the rear elevation has now also been given the wow factor, with the whole house now  opened up unlocking the amazing views.

To support the clients plans and budget the project has been split into 3 phases. Phase 1 is as follows:

  • Create a Downstairs Cloakroom and Utility room in the original dining room.

  • New open plan kitchen dining area, complete with large island.

  • Family living area to be relocated to the rear of the property, taking advantage of the breath taking views.

  • New mono pitched roof, floor to ceiling glass in living area and bi-fold doors to both the rear and to the side of the property.

  • Relocate existing master bedroom.

  • Move existing family bathroom to create an beautiful master ensuite and dressing rooms.

  • New floor to ceiling glass gable window in master bedroom.
